The Meaning Behind The Name

Caravella or Cara to her friends at home came into Esther’s life as a very green 5 year old. At the time Esther had a sassy 15.2hh Connemara, it took Esther 4 years to find the perfect horse in Cara, who she purchased from an established event rider. During their first 6 months together Cara reignited Esther’s love for jumping and the equestrian sport itself. When Esther’s beloved Oakley passed away she took a small 2 week break from going on to the yard, once she felt like she could face it Cara had developed a rearing habit, something that persisted for over a year. Cara really is a stunning horse who is full of personality, picking and choosing her people and always etting you know if she doesn’t like something. Despite her sass and rebellious streak, she does have a loving side that she shows to those she trusts. She would never harm anyone and even in her rearing days she always looked after her rider never wanting to unseat them. Her eyebrows always tell you the mood she is in and although she can be picky when she is on form she really is something special.

 

Wash in 30 Degree Celsius or less.

Hand washing is best.

Never use detergent or bleach as it can damage the waterproof coating.

Out turnout rugs boast a 3000mm waterproof and the breathability ranges from 3000-8000 MVT (Molar Value Transmission). The MVT is measured in gms/m2/24 Hours. The higher the MVT value the more breathable the fabric is.

All turnouts have a PU coating inside which is Hydrophilic (Water Loving) in nature, drawing excess sweat and moisture to it. The temperature difference between the air inside and outside of the rug then forces moisture outwards. During heavy rain fall the pores in the outer layer of the rug are covered in water making it impossible for air inside the rug to escape, at that moment in time the rug is in a 0 breathability state, causing sweat inside the rug, this can sometimes be mistaken for a leaking rug.

All waterproof rugs have taped seams at the stitching joints however it is not possible to tape seam or heat-seal every stitching, webbing or fastening from water penetration.
