Our Story

Equii-Est was founded by Esther in 2020, created from a lifelong love of horses and a dream to create, high-quality essentials that riders could truly trust without the high price tag. In 2024, Alice, Esther’s best friend of 11 years, joined the journey, as a team they had big plans and a shared determination to grow something meaningful together. What started as a passion project quickly became something bigger. Side by side, they’ve grown Equii-Est into a thriving brand, launching new products regularly, attending major shows, and building a community of riders who care as deeply as they do.

At the heart of everything is the bond between horse and human, the early mornings, muddy rugs, quiet stable moments, and unforgettable rides. That’s why every product is thoughtfully designed to be durable, comfortable, and stylish, while remaining accessible for everyday use. From your miniature Shetlands to your Shires, we believe every horse deserves the same level of care and quality.

Every product at Equii-Est carries a story. Many of our horse rugs and collections are inspired by horses and pets that have shaped our journey, reflecting the bond, trust, and love we have shared.

The Meaning Behind The Name

Olive

Our Olive fleece is named after a much loved welsh pony with the heart of a lion. Produced by our founding director Esther, Olive helped a young rider find her confidence before sadly passing away in 2017. Her spirit lives on in everything she inspired.

Scarlett

Scarlett sparked Esther’s love for eventing, joining her journey when she was just 14. Despite an early vetting setback, they built an unbreakable bond and competed across disciplines as a true family team.

Bandit was a cheeky project pony Esther caught off the moors at just seven years old. With time and patience, they built a special bond, enjoying pony club and show jumping before Bandit went on to a new home.

Wisper was Esther’s very first competition pony, joining her life at just three years old. From show jumping to gymkhanas, she became both Esther’s escape and her safe place, later teaching many children to ride before passing away at 26. A truly unforgettable pony.

Scarlett was a remarkable horse, winning across eventing, dressage, and riding club championships, even qualifying for the Petplan Dressage Finals. Gentle, dependable, and always a joy to be around, she sadly passed away just days after being diagnosed with cancer.

Jazz was Esther’s beloved 148cm showjumping pony, brought at 5 and quickly becoming a fierce competitor. From newcomers to POYS, he gave everything once trust was earned, forming a rare bond with Esther before sadly passing from colic at just 11.

Esther’s very first homered foal, was the heart of the stables, from her wobbly first steps to her elegant paces as a young horse. She was full of spirit and deeply loved, she passed away in 2021 but will always remain a treasured part of the family.

Esther brought Cara as a green 5 year old and quickly found her love for jumping again. Full of sass, personality, and selective affection, she’s a special mare who always looks after her rider and givers her heart to those she trusts.

Espoir, meaning hope, is a tribute to Esther’s beloved beagle puppy, Hope. Full of love and cuddles, she defied the odds after being given just one week to live, touching everyone she met before sadly passing at two years old.

Double Vision is named after Spirit, Esther’s childhood pony whom she backs herself and later saw succeed with multiple podium placings. After years teaching young riders, he returned home to retire, remaining a true ray of sunshine until his passing at 24.

Trewyn, or Winnie to her friends at home, is Esther’s beloved event horse, a gentle giant full of grace, strength, and cuddles. Produced through the levels to BE novice and now competing at BE90, she carries Esther’s lifelong dream of Badminton Grassroots.

Gerrard came into Esther’s life when she was thirteen, and together they overcame early challenges to build an unbreakable bond. through patience and trust, they went on to compete across pony club, BSJA, and eventing, sharing 16 unforgettable years together.
