    Is this suitable for heavy rain?
    It’s designed for light to moderate showers. For heavy rain, you’d want a full turnout rug.

Rug Care Instructions

Proper care helps maintain the rug’s performance and waterproof coating.

• Machine washable
• Cold wash only (30°C or below)
• Line dry only
• Do not bleach
• Do not tumble dry
• Do not iron
• Hand washing is recommended where possible.
• Avoid using standard detergents or bleach as these can damage the waterproof coating.

Waterproof & Breathability

Equii-Est turnout rugs are designed to balance weather protection and breathability.

• Breathability: 3000–8000 MVT

MVT (Moisture Vapour Transmission) is measured in g/m²/24 hours. The higher the value, the more breathable the fabric.

All waterproof rugs include a hydrophilic PU coating, which draws sweat and moisture away from the horse’s body. Temperature differences between the inside and outside of the rug then move moisture outward through the fabric.

During heavy rainfall, the outer pores of the rug can temporarily become saturated with water, preventing airflow from escaping. This can sometimes cause internal moisture build-up and may be mistaken for a leaking rug.

Major seams are taped for waterproof protection, although it is not possible to seal every stitching or fastening point.
