Waterproof & Breathability

All Equii-Est turnout rugs are engineered for reliable weather protection.

• Breathability rating: 3000–8000 MVT

Breathability is measured as MVT (Moisture Vapour Transmission) in g/m²/24 hours. A higher MVT value indicates better moisture transfer and improved comfort for your horse.

Turnout rugs feature a hydrophilic PU coating that draws moisture and sweat away from the horse’s body. The difference in temperature between the inside and outside of the rug then pushes this moisture outward through the fabric.

During heavy rainfall, the outer pores of the rug may become saturated with water. When this happens, airflow temporarily reduces and moisture inside the rug can build up. This is normal behaviour for waterproof breathable fabrics and can sometimes be mistaken for a leaking rug.

All waterproof rugs include taped seams at major stitching points, although it is not possible to fully seal every webbing, fastening, or stitching area.
