The Story Behind Our Olive Fleece Rug
Olive was a welsh pony who completely stole our hearts. She wasn’t your typical Welsh pony either, she had the heart of a lion and would turn her hoof to absolutely anything. Brave, kind, willing, and never put a hoof wrong, she was the sort of pony that leaves a mark on everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Esther, our founding director, produced Olive from a foal through to the age of five. Watching her grow and develop was a special journey. Olive was full of character, talent, and determination, and she approached life with a quiet confidence that made her stand out from the very beginning.
At five years old, Olive was sold to Alice, she became the reason Esther and Alice first became friends. Although still young herself, Olive had an old soul. She had a sensible head on her shoulders and a kind nature that gave Alice the confidence to learn, grow, and chase her dreams. She became more than just a pony; she became a partner, a teacher, and a best friend.
Sadly, in October 2017, Olive passed away at the heartbreaking age of just seven.
Although her life was far too short, her impact was unforgettable. Olive was deeply loved and continues to be remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. Her spirit lives on in the memories she gave us and in the confidence, love, and joy she inspired in others.
Naming our Olive fleece rug after her felt only right. It is a small way of honouring a very special pony who meant so much to so many. Every time we say her name, we remember her courage, her kindness, and the incredible little pony who gave so much in such a short time.
Although Olive is no longer with us, her impact is still felt every day. In the horses we work with, the riders we support, and the values we build our brand around.
Every time our Olive fleece rug is worn, it carries a small part of her story with it, a reminder of kindness, bravery, and the special bond between horse and rider.
We are incredibly proud to honour her in this way and to keep her memory alive through everything we do.
